Maria "Mary" Catherine was born on July 10th, 1885 in Bissel, Nebraska.1 Maria "Mary" Catherine's father was John Ludvig (Rickers) Rickert and her mother was Catherine Elizabeth Heibel. Her paternal grandparents were John Johann Rickers and Anna Katherine Borchers; her maternal grandparents were Valentine (Heupbel) Heibel and Angelika "Anna" "Gela" Reitz. She had two brothers and five sisters, named Carl Oscar, John Ludvig Valentine, Bertha, Clara, Martha Catherine, Anna Louise and Kate. She was the third youngest of the eight children. She died at the age of 96 on January 11th, 1982 in Columbus, Nebraska.1 -
