Mary C. was born on May 5th, 1838.1 Mary C.'s father was Joseph Poley and her mother was Frances Gates. Her paternal grandparents were Charles Pouley Poley and Elizabeth Rowland. She had six brothers and three sisters, named Benjamin F., Peter F., Isaac F., Joseph, Charles M., Alonzo G., Caroline, Matilda Francis and Louisa E.. She had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Elisha, Willie, Nancy C. and Lizzie.1 -
