Mary Lenrene was born in December 1871 in NC.1 Mary Lenrene's father was Hugh Addison Parker and her mother was Mary Hawkins. Her paternal grandfather was John H. Parker; her maternal grandparents were Abner H. Hawkins and Leutina Lurina Brown. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Jullius J., William Britton, David M., Elihu P., Mary Jane, Laura Elizabeth, Derotha Emmaline and Medora Addi. She was the youngest of the nine children.
