Laura Elizabeth was born about 1862 in Jackson Co., NC.1 Laura Elizabeth's father was Hugh Addison Parker and her mother was Mary Hawkins. Her paternal grandfather was John H. Parker; her maternal grandparents were Abner H. Hawkins and Leutina Lurina Brown. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Jullius J., William Britton, David M., Elihu P., Mary Jane, Derotha Emmaline, Medora Addi and Mary Lenrene. She was the fifth oldest of the nine children.1 -
