Richard G Newport

Richard G was born in 1836 in Rhea, Scott, Tennessee.¹   Richard G's father was Asa Newport and his mother was Elizabeth Rodgers. He had four brothers and five sisters, named John, Ezekiel [Red Zeke], Asa, James F, Polly Anne, Elizabeth, Margaret, July H and Sabry.  He was the fourth youngest of the ten children.¹
