John Morton 
John was born on March 26th, 1781 in Cornwallis, Nova Scotia.1 John's father was Lemuel Morton and his mother was Martha Newcomb. His paternal grandparents were Elkanah Morton and Rebecca Tupper; his maternal grandparents were John Newcomb and Mercy Barnaby. He had six brothers and two sisters, named William, James, George E., Holmes, Charles, Guy, Rebecca and Mary Alice. He was the oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 76 on March 3rd, 1858 in Halifax, Nova Scotia.1 -
