Lawrence Eliot was born on July 15th, 1859 in Effingham Co., GA.1   Lawrence Eliot's father was Jeremiah Mallette and his mother was Mary Ann Porter.  His paternal grandparents were Gideon Mallette and Hannah Elizabeth DeRoche; his maternal grandparents were William G. Porter and Mary Ann Treutlen. He had a brother and six sisters, named Jeremiah Alberti, Amanda B., Mary Elizabeth, Isabel Eveline, Alice Jeannette, Leila Corine and Lillian Venta.  He was the second youngest of the eight children. He had a half-brother and four half-sisters, named Robert Taylor, Frances Malvina, Julia Eveline, Elvira Lenora and Laura Anna.  He died at the age of 66 on March 6th, 1926 in Brunswick, Glynn Co., GA.  He was buried on March 8th, 1926 in Savannah, Chatham Co., GA.1 1
