Amanda B. was born in 1848 in Effingham Co., GA.1   Amanda B.'s father was Jeremiah Mallette and her mother was Mary Ann Porter.  Her paternal grandparents were Gideon Mallette and Hannah Elizabeth DeRoche; her maternal grandparents were William G. Porter and Mary Ann Treutlen. She had two brothers and five sisters, named Jeremiah Alberti, Lawrence Eliot, Mary Elizabeth, Isabel Eveline, Alice Jeannette, Leila Corine and Lillian Venta.  She was the oldest of the eight children. She had a half-brother and four half-sisters, named Robert Taylor, Frances Malvina, Julia Eveline, Elvira Lenora and Laura Anna.  She died at the age of 5 on October 26th, 1853 in Effingham Co., GA.1
