William Hinshaw 
William was born on September 16th, 1802 in Guilford, NC.1 William's father was Jesse Hinshaw and his mother was Eunice Gifford. His paternal grandparents were John Hinshaw and Ruth Pike; his maternal grandparents were Jonathan Gifford and Eunice Beard. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Jesse, Jonathan P., Mary, Sarah, Ruth and Eunice. He was the oldest of the seven children.1 General Notes
