John Hinshaw 
John was born on June 2nd, 1777 in Stokes, NC.1 John's father was John Hinshaw and his mother was Ruth Pike. His paternal grandfather was Jesse Hinshaw; his maternal grandfather was John Pike. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Jesse, Benjamin, Jonathan, Seth, Mary and Susanna. He was the oldest of the seven children.1 General Notes
