Jeremiah Cushing 
Jeremiah was born in 1654.1 Jeremiah's father was Daniel Cushing and his mother was Lydia Gilman. His paternal grandparents were Matthew Cushing and Nazareth Pitcher; his maternal grandparents were Edward Gilman and Mary Clark. He had four brothers and a sister, named Peter, Daniel, Theophilus, Matthew and Deborah. He was the third youngest of the six children. He died at the age of 52 in 1706.1 General Notes

Jeremiah Cushing graduated from Harvard College in 1676. He was probably the "Jeremiah Cushing" whose name is appended to the petition of the General Court, of Mass., containing suggestions and recommendations relative to the Indian War of 1675-76. He was eduacated for the ministry, and was ordained at Scituate, in 1691. He preached at Hingham, Haverhill and Scituate.
