Peter was born in Hardingham, England.1 Peter's father was Thomas Cushing. His paternal grandfather was John Cushing. He was an only child. He died in 1615 in Hingham, England.1 General Notes

Peter Cushing, sixth son of Thomas Cushing, moved to Hingham about 1600, the year in which the parish register of Hingham begins. He was probably one of the first Cushings to embrace the Protestant faith, for the wills of his father and eldest brother are not in the Protestant form.
