Celia E. was born in 1847.1 Celia E.'s father was Thomas Madison Nickell and her mother was Barbara Gregory. Her paternal grandparents were Jeremiah "Jerry" Nickell and Polly. She had four brothers and five sisters, named William E, John A, Thomas Madison, Wesley L, Mary Evaline, Matsey Mahala, Eliza Jane, Rachel R and Sara M. She was the second youngest of the ten children.-
