  June the 22nd day of 1823 this is to sastefy that I, Jeremiah Nickle
  due forwarn aney of my family of trading or seling enney  of my stock
  of cattle, hogs or sheap except three and that I due alow Thomas
  Nickel to sel them three the big bul, the old black cow and the
  muley cow that is all that I alow sold til I come back as I due
  alow to starte out to hunt a new cuntery or some other part of the
  cuntry that I think that I can make out as well as I can hear or
  maby a little better and that I don't alow none of them to go in
  det with out they can pay it them selfs for I don't inten to pa
  aney det thay go in without my leave and if I never come back, tis
  my wish that my wife shud have a cow cald Blos and her bed and that
  I wish that plantation and track of land lying on the edy creak shold
  be sold and equely devied betwixt my two oldest suns, James and
  Thomas and that I do alow Thomas to have my rifle, gun and all my
  sheap to sel and get himself a hors and I due alow him to get a young
  cow and calf named pink and for James to get a young heafer and for
  Polly and Rachel and Aney and Jenny  I allow them all a hefer a pese
  and for the household furniture to be equilly devied betwixt them
  and that I due alow my son, Jermiah the plantation and track of land
  that I now live on and my little bay mar that I leve hear andd all
  the balence of my cattle and hogs and all the farmin utenshels and
  that my request is that my tue youngest suns, Mikle and Wilburn at
  a sutable time shold be put to a good tread (trade)  and if I come
  back I espect ot left these ritens and if I shold not ter come back
  I leve these lines with you sined, seld and delivered in the present
  of witness.

  Presented in Court 17 April, 1826 to settle his estate and was not
  accepted by the court.  They ruled that because he wrote it before
  leaving on his trip and was for that purpose only.   I found the
  original in a bundle of wills in the Caldwell Co. court house
  and when I went back a couple of years later I could not find the
  original.  There have been different dates given for his death,
  but this proves  he was died in 1826 instead of 1824 as some have
  said.  I will send you a list of his children when I find his estate
  settlement as it lists more children than mentioned in his will.
