Benjamin Douglass

Benjamin was born in February 1851 in Lower, Canada.¹   Benjamin's father was Robert Douglass and his mother was Martha Monteith.  His maternal grandfather was William Monteith. He had two brothers and eight sisters, named John, Benjamin Monteith, Mary, Margaret, Matilda Lillian, Elizabeth, Ellen Jane, Louisa Porter, Sarah Ann and Cecelia.  He was the third youngest of the eleven children.
