Francis was born in 1810 in Caldwell Co., KY.1 Francis' father was Tacy Cooper and his mother was Jane Orr. His maternal grandparents were Alexander Orr and Martha. He had a brother and seven sisters, named Alexander, Martha, Polly, Sally, Nancy, Margaret, Elizabeth and Jane. He was the fifth oldest of the nine children.-
