William Thomas Fortson 
William Thomas was born on December 19th, 1802.1 William Thomas' father was William Fortson and his mother was Ann Higginbotham. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Fortson and Rachel Winn; his maternal grandparents were Samuel Higginbotham and Jane Satterwhite. He had five brothers and five sisters, and also two siblings of unknown gender, named Samuel H., Elijah Satterwhite, Roderick R., Peter E., Aaron J., Jane, Rachel Wynn, Elizabeth, Frances, Ann, Jeptha V. and Elisha. He was the fifth oldest of the thirteen children.1 -
