Amandus Jackson was born on February 12th, 1832 in S. Whitehall Twp., Lehigh Co., PA. Amandus Jackson's father was Abraham Troxell and his mother was Maria Kemmerer. His paternal grandparents were Peter Troxell and Magdalena Siegfried; his maternal grandparents were John Kemmerer and Magdalena Leibensperger. He had a brother and six sisters, named Benjamin Franklin, Eliza, Eva Matilda, Anna Maria, Elizabeth, Magdalena and Catharina.
