Matthew Stewart 
Matthew was born on September 21st, 1516 in Dunbarton Castle, Scotland. Matthew's father was John Stewart and his mother is Elizabeth Stewart. His paternal grandparents were Matthew Stewart and Elizabeth Hamilton; his maternal grandparents were John+ Stewart and Eleanor+ Sinclair. He had a brother and a sister, named John and Helen. He was the second oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 54 on September 4th, 1571 in Stirling, Scotland.General Notes

Lived in exile in England and invaded Scotland with 18 ships as English Lord Lt. of northern England and southern Scotland in 1544. His titles were forfeited for treason after invading Scotland again in 1545. He burnt the town of Annan in 1547 and raided Scotland again in 1548. He was restored to all of his titles in 1564 and became regent for his grandson James VI and 1 from 1570. "
