Francesco Pippi 
Francesco was born on September 18th, 1888 in Buggiano, Lucca, Italy. Francesco's father was Lorenzo+ Pippi and his mother was Maria Adelaide+ Iacopini. His paternal grandparents were Agostino+ Pippi and Maria Luisa+ Pellegrini; his maternal grandparents were Pietro+ Iacopini and Maria Domenica+ Guelfi. He had six brothers and a sister, named Domenico, Primo, Silvio, Sabatino, Leopoldo, Giuseppe Domenico and Giulia. He was the second youngest of the eight children. He died due to Hardening of the arteries at the age of 75 in September 1963 in Stockton, San Joaquin, CA. He was buried in San Joaquin Catholic Cemetary, Stockton, Ca..General Notes
Francesco sailed to Ellis Island on ship "La Lorraine", arriving March 05,1905. He returned to Italy and served in the army there until Sept. 1909. He then returned to Ellis Island on Oct. 08, 1910. Residence listed: Borgoa, Buggiano, Italy. Francesco was an exquisite gardener, and I remember spending long hours in his garden and among the fig and pomegranite trees in the surrounding orchard. He would graft small trees together as though he were a dedicated surgeon caring for his special patients. They had a wine cellar that carried a sweet, earthy smell, full of potatoes, onions, and wine. He is interred at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetary, Stockton, Ca.
