As of 08/15/2003, a professional genealogist is continuing work on tracing my Pippi line.  What I know at this early point is that the search is widening for her because my ancestors came from Chiesa Uzzanese and Ponte Buggianese, Italy and they are spreading out from there, according to the genealogist doing the research.
It has been explained to me by my genealogist that "Iacopini" is sometimes  spelled "Jacopini" and means "little Jacob" or "little James." The "J" is missing from the Italian alphabet but is a holdover from Latin, so the "I" and "J" are interchangeable.  Therefore, Iacopini and Jacopini are the same name and may be changed, depending upon who is doing the writing.
