Sarah was born on November 7th, 1765 in New Garden Mm, Guilford, NC. Sarah's father was John III Mills and her mother was Sarah Millikan. Her paternal grandparents were John+ Mills and Sarah+ Beals. She had four brothers and seven sisters, named Samuel, William, John, Zachariah, Jane, Abigail, Mary, Ruth, Alice, Lydia and Rachel. She was the third oldest of the twelve children.
