Francois De was born in 1517 in Nancy, France. Francois De's father was Antoine II De Lorraine and his mother was Renee De Bourbon-Montpensier. His paternal grandparents were Rene II De Lorraine and Philippa D' Egmont; his maternal grandparents were Gilbert De Bourbon-Montpensier and Chiara Gonzaga. He had a brother and a sister, named Nicholas De and Anne De. He was the oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 28 on June 12th, 1545.
