Sarah Butler Henry

Sarah Butler was born on January 4th, 1780 in Leatherwood Plantation, Henry Co., VA. Sarah Butler's father was Patrick Henry and her mother was Dorothea Spotswood Dandridge. Her paternal grandparents were John Henry and Sarah Dabney Winston; her maternal grandparents were Nathaniel West Dandridge and Dorothea Spotswood. She had six brothers and five sisters, named Patrick, Alexander Spotswood, Nathaniel West, Richard, Edward Winston, John, Dorothea Spotswood, Kitty, Martha Catherine, Fayette and Jane Robertson. She is the third oldest of the twelve children. She had three half-brothers and three half-sisters, named John, William, Edward, Martha, Anne and Elizabeth.
