Catherine+ was born about 1362 in Clifford Castle, Herefordshire, England. Catherine+'s father was Roger De+ Clifford and her mother was Maud De+ Beauchamp. Her paternal grandparents were Robert+ Clifford and Isabel De+ Berkeley; her maternal grandparents were Thomas De+ Beauchamp and Katherine De+ Mortimer. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Lewis+, Thomas+, Margaret De+, Maud and Philippa+. She was the third oldest of the six children.
