Samuel Carter 
Samuel was born on January 24th, 1772 in Cane Creek, Orange, NC. Samuel's father was Samuel Carter and his mother was Mary Barnes. His maternal grandparents were Brinsley+ Barnes and Sarah Elizabeth Barry+ Lindley. He had five brothers and three sisters, named William, John, Edward, Robert, Mordecai, Mary, Margaret and Elizabeth. He was the third youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 72 on April 18th, 1844 in Lick Creek, Orange, IN.General Notes
