Edmund, known as "the Good", was born in Llangoed, Llyswen, Breconshire, Wales.  "the Good"'s father was Roger de Mortimer of March and his mother was Philippe de Montagu.  His paternal grandparents were Edmund de Mortimer and Elizabeth de Badlesmere; his maternal grandparents were King William de Montagu of Man and Katherine de Grandison. He had a sister named Margery.  He died on December 27th, 1381 in Dominican Friary, Cork, Ireland.  He was buried in Wigmore, Herefordshire, England.


"the Good"'s family with Countess Philippa Plantagenet of Ulster

‌"the Good" and Philippa were married in a religious ceremony in 1359 in Queen's Chapel, Reading, Berkshire, England.  They had a son and a daughter, named Roger and Elizabeth.
