Comte Gilbert de Gant

Gilbert was born about 1048 in Alost, Flanders, Belgium. Gilbert's father was Seigneur Ralph de Gand I and his mother was Gisele de Luxembourg. His paternal grandparents are Adalbert de Gand and Ermengarde de Flanders; his maternal grandfather was Frederic I of Luxembourg and his maternal grandmother is Ermentrude of Gleiberg. He had two brothers and a sister, named Baudouin, Gilbert and Isabel. He died in 1094. He was buried in Bardney, Lincolnshire, England.
