Ingeborg was born about 1021 in Osteraat, Yrje, Norway.  Ingeborg's father is Finn Arnesson and her mother is Thorbiorg Bergliot of Norway.  Her paternal grandfather was Arni Arnmodsson and her paternal grandmother is Thora Thorsteinsdatter; her maternal grandfather was King Harald Hardrada Halfdan Sigurdsson III of Norway and her maternal grandmother is Elizaveta Yaroslavna of Kiev.  She was an only child.  She died about 1066.


Ingeborg's first family with Earl Thorfinn ("the Black", "the Mighty") Sigurdsson II of Orkney

‌Ingeborg and "the Black", "the Mighty" were married in a religious ceremony before 1038.  They had two sons named Paul and Bardolph.


Ingeborg's second family with King Malcom III ("Ceanmor", "Longneck", "Bighead") of Scotland

They had two sons named Duncan and Heth Aethelred.
