William II Malet 
William II was born about 1054 in Seine Inferieure,Normandy. William II's father was William I Malet and his mother was Elsie Hesilia Crispin. His paternal grandfather was Robert Malet; his maternal grandfather was Gilbert Crispin Earl De Briony and his maternal grandmother is Gunnora d'AUNOU. He had a sister named Beatrix. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Gilbert, Alan II de, Lucy Beatrice and Aelfgifu. He died after 1117.General Notes
Son of William Malet I, the warrior at Hastings; father of William Malet III the monk. In 1117 William Malet II gave to the abbey of Bec "for his son, William, who had become a monk at Bec and for the salvation of his soul, for that of his wife and for his children and for the soul of his father and his mother and his bro. Robert, properties which are situated in the bishopric of Evreux, near the river Carentan at the place called Mesnil-Joscelyn". [Falaise Roll, p. 196a]
Though Miles Crispin, a monk at Bec in 1120s and 1130s in his *Miraculum de nobili genere Crispini* thought Esilia Crispin was the mother of William Malet, the general consensus is that Miles got it wrong. [Keats-Rohan as quoted by Richard Borthwick <rgbor@cyllene.uwa.edu.au]
