Godgifu was born about 0980 in Wessex, England.  Godgifu's father was King 'The Unready' King of England Aethelred II and her mother was of Normandy Queen of England Emma.  Her paternal grandparents were King "The Peaceful" King of England Edgar and the Fair of England Egelfleda; her maternal grandparents were Duke 'The Fearless' 3rd Duke of Normandy (The Fearless) Richard I and Gunnora Haraldsdottir of Denmark (de Crepon). She had five brothers and four sisters, named Alfred, 'the Confessor' King of England, Ingelric, Prince Alred Of, Alfred, Aelfgifu, Emma, Godgifu\goda Princess of and of England. She had two half-brothers and seven half-sisters, named 'ironsides' King of England, unknown, Unknown, Elfgifu [Alfgifu; Elgiva]  of England, Elfgifu of England, Aelfgifu, Elfgifu, Wulfhilda and (Elifgifu) Princess of England.  She died on September 10th, 1067.  She was buried in Coventry, Warwickshire, England.

‌Godgifu and De Boulogne Count of Boulogne-Lens were married in a religious ceremony in 1056.  They had three sons and a daughter, named Eustace III, Geoffrey, Godfrey and Gertrude.
