Count of Meulent. Morin du Pin was his steward and castellan at Beaumont Castle and had been the governor and tutor of the young count by the king's appointment. Morin du Pin held Count Waleran's castle of Beaumont after the count's capture in that battle by the king. On the order of the count Pin reluctantly surrendered the castle, which still held out against the king, for which Morin was banished from Normandy for life and died in exile. [Falaise Roll, p. 72]
On the rebellion of Waleran, the young son of Robert, in 1124, who had then succeeded his father, the castle of Vatteville-sur-Seine was demolished by the command of King Henry I. [Falaise Roll, p. 120]
Defeated in the battle of Bourgteroude in 1124 along with Hugh de Montfort, Amaury de Montfort, William Crispin III and other Norman barons. Waleran was captured. [Falaise Roll, p. 133]
