Magdalene was born in 1051.  Magdalene's father was William "The Conqueror" King of England and her mother was Matlida Fleming of Flanders.  Her paternal grandparents were Robert I "The Magnificent" Duke of Normandy and Hariette De Falaise; her maternal grandparents are Baudouin V Count of Flanders and Adele Alix Capet. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Henry I "Beauclerc" King of, Robert Curthose of, Cecily Abbess of Holy Trinity, Adele Alice Princess of and Gundred Princess of.  She is the oldest of the six children. She had a half-brother named William "the Elder".
