Aaron L. was born in 1841 in Vermillion Co. Ilinois.1 Aaron L.'s father was Benjamin S. Purcell and his mother was Mary Smalley. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Purcell and Ann Brewer; his maternal grandparents were Benjamin F. Smalley and Mary Liggett. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Benjamin, Samuel Bruer, Peter Reisinger, Daniel Elisah, Calvin, Noah, Rachel Marie, Sarah Ann and Rebecca. He had four half-brothers and a half-sister, named William Charles, Corneilus, Charles McLain, M. I. and Elizabeth. He died in Holly Springs Mississippi.1 General Notes
