He had five brothers and two sisters, named Samuel B., Alexander W., Cornelius, George W. C., James R., Margaret Ann Johnston and Susannah. He died at the age of 69 on May 17th, 1890 in Bennettsville, Marlboro Co., South Carolina. He was buried in Sandy Plain Cemetery.1 1 General Notes
