Emma Caroline was born on August 12th, 1864 in Horry Co., South Carolina.1 Emma Caroline's father was Daniel Jenkins McQueen and her mother was Elizabeth Caroline Skipper. Her paternal grandfather was William J. McQueen and her paternal grandmother is Susannah Graham. She had four brothers and three sisters, named James Robinson, John W., William Hamilton, Yancy Price, Orilla V., Laura F. and Julia R.. She was the second youngest of the eight children.
