William Pleasant was born on April 18th, 1904 in Clark Co., Mississippi.1 William Pleasant's father was George Preston Keahey and his mother was Leona Melvina Guinn. His paternal grandparents were Preston Gustavius Keahey and Amanda Cox. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Fred Howard, John Jackson, George Leroy, Abe Kline, Homer Earl, Albert Elihu, Ruthie Belle and Blanche.
