William,General was born in 1786 in North Carolina.1 William,General's father was John Keahey and his mother was Martha Jackson. His paternal grandparents were William MacKeahey and Margaret Unknown; his maternal grandparents were Samuel Jackson and Christian Unknown. He had four brothers and three sisters, named John,Jr., William Samples, George Jackson, James S., Christian, Mary and Margaret. He died at the age of 71 on March 5th, 1857 in Boyce, Waynesboro Co., Mississippi. He was buried in Boyce, Waynesboro Co., Mississippi.1 1 General Notes
