Nellie Jane was born on May 26th, 1925.1 Nellie Jane's father was James Alfred,3rd Keahey and her mother was Jennie Gossett. Her paternal grandfather was John Mitchell Keahey and her paternal grandmother is Amanda Pilcher. She had five brothers and five sisters, named John William, Thomas Marion, Jay Mitchell, Grover Patterson, Joseph Donald, Annie Laurie, Mary Lou, Clara Mae, Jimmie Lee and Mattie Ruth.
