Leon Keahey 
Leon was born on April 17th, 1919 in Crawford, Oklahoma.1 Leon's father was John Wesley Keahey and his mother was Vera S. Hughey. His paternal grandparents were Archibald Smith Keahey and Martha Elizabeth Robertson. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named John Winford, E. Vernon, Alton Winston, Gerald Clifford, Nolen Altus, L. B., Edwin Earl, Lorena, Lois E. and Audrey. He was the third youngest of the eleven children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Unknown and Della. He died at the age of 84 on May 22nd, 2003 in Roger Mills Co., Oklahoma. Leon graduated from Crawford High School in 1938 . He moved to Borg
er , Te xas and worked for Phillips Petroleum Company . He was marri
ed to Leona Be avin at Elk City on October 12, 1940 . Leon entered the Uni
ted States Ar my and served his country during World War II in the medic
al corps . Aft er his discharge they lived in Borger until 1950 when th
ey moved to Crawfo rd where Leon was a farmer and rancher .
He was a member of the St . Matthew Catholic Church .
He was preceded in death by his parents , one son , Kenneth ; six brot
he rs and three sisters .
Survivors include : his wife , Leona of the home , one son , Richard Ke
ah ey and wife , Betty of Crawford , Oklahomas ; two daughters , Sandra am
mo nd of Oklahoma City , Oklahoma , Ann Merritt and husband J .E . of Craw
fo rd , Oklahoma ; one brother , Altus Keahey and wife , Novella of Whi
te De er , Texas ; one sister , Audrey Rorabough of San Luis Obispo , Cali
forn ia ; eight grandchildlren ; nine great grandchildren ; a special nie
