Thomas Henry Hughes

Thomas Henry was born about 1830.¹   Thomas Henry's father was Leander, Sr. Hughes and his mother is Elizabeth Fretwell.  His paternal grandfather was Powell Hughes and his paternal grandmother is Elizabeth Coleman. He had eight brothers and eight sisters, named Powell, Leonard F., John J., Sr., Leander, Little Berry, William, Farley B., Jesse Chesterfield, Julia A., Gilley, Gideliah, Carolina, Philadelphia, Elizabeth 'Betsy', Susan L. and Nancy Ann.  He is the third youngest of the seventeen children. He has a half-brother and a half-sister, named Ira B. and Sally Jane.
