Gideliah Hughes

Gideliah was born before 1815.¹   Gideliah's father was Leander, Sr. Hughes and her mother is Elizabeth Fretwell.  Her paternal grandfather was Powell Hughes and her paternal grandmother is Elizabeth Coleman. She had nine brothers and seven sisters, named Powell, Leonard F., John J., Sr., Leander, Little Berry, William, Farley B., Thomas Henry, Jesse Chesterfield, Julia A., Gilley, Carolina, Philadelphia, Elizabeth 'Betsy', Susan L. and Nancy Ann.  She is the fourth oldest of the seventeen children. She has a half-brother and a half-sister, named Ira B. and Sally Jane.
