Nancy Ann Hughes

Nancy Ann was born about 1835.¹   Nancy Ann's father was Leander, Sr. Hughes and her mother is Elizabeth Fretwell.  Her paternal grandfather was Powell Hughes and her paternal grandmother is Elizabeth Coleman. She had nine brothers and seven sisters, named Powell, Leonard F., John J., Sr., Leander, Little Berry, William, Farley B., Thomas Henry, Jesse Chesterfield, Julia A., Gilley, Gideliah, Carolina, Philadelphia, Elizabeth 'Betsy' and Susan L..  She is the youngest of the seventeen children. She has a half-brother and a half-sister, named Ira B. and Sally Jane.
