William Bacot Gause 
William Bacot was born in 1778 in Gause Landing Plantation, North Carolina.1 William Bacot's father was William, Jr. Gause and his mother was Elizabeth Bacot. His paternal grandfather was William, Sr. Gause and his paternal grandmother is Ann Bryan; his maternal grandparents were Samuel Bacot and Rebecca Foissin. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Peter, Samuel Peter, Martha, Martha and Elizabeth Bacot. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Needham, Samuel, Mary and Sarah. He died at the age of 83 in 1861 in Southport, Brunswick County, NC.1 General Notes
