Joseph was born in Frederick, Maryland.1 Joseph's father was Christopher Durbin and his mother is Margaret Brown Parkinson not proven. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Durbin and Ann Logsdon. He had seven brothers and six sisters, named Edward Ned, John J, Christopher, Phillip S, Samuel, Nicholas Edward, Thomas, Daughter, Daughter, Daughter, Daughter, Daughter and Daughter.
