Riley Palestine (Tiny) was born about July 1883 in Grayson Co., Kentucky.1 Riley Palestine (Tiny)'s father was Samuel 'Green' Basham and his mother was Nancy Jane Johnson. His paternal grandparents were Benajah Anderson Basham and Nancy E. Turner. He had three brothers and four sisters, named William Henry (Evans), Lonnie Valentine, Edward Calvin, Mary Isbell, Ellen Paradine, Nellie Caroline and Bennie Jane. He had nine half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Morgan Mayberry, Velmer, Tony Bedford, Millard Thomas, James Marion, John Vollie, Samuel Green (Sam), Charles Frank, Living, Minnie Pearl, Urline B. and Living.
