Riley Palestine, Jr. was born on January 9th, 1931 in Grayson Co., Kentucky.1 Riley Palestine, Jr.'s father was Riley Palestine (Tiny) Basham and his mother was Minnie Frances Davis. His paternal grandparents were Samuel 'Green' Basham and Nancy Jane Johnson. He had four brothers and three sisters, named John C., Shelby Thomas, Sherman, Claud, Edna M., Living and Living.
