Richard B. was born on March 22nd, 1840 in Breckenridge Co., Kentucky.1 Richard B.'s father was Francis (Frank) Basham and his mother was Thursia HARDIN. His paternal grandparents were Obediah Basham and Celia Dowell; his maternal grandparents were Daniel Hardin and Alice (Alsey) Jolly. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named Daniel Hardin, Henry Washington, Celia Dowell, Joel Hardin, Sarah Abigail, Francis Marion, Jacob D., Cassandra Hardin and Alice (Alsey) Jolly.
