Cassandra Hardin was born on April 17th, 1830 in Union Star, Breckenridge Co., Ky.1 Cassandra Hardin's father was Francis (Frank) Basham and her mother was Thursia HARDIN. Her paternal grandparents were Obediah Basham and Celia Dowell; her maternal grandparents were Daniel Hardin and Alice (Alsey) Jolly. She had eight brothers and a sister, named Daniel Hardin, Henry Washington, Celia Dowell, Joel Hardin, Richard B., Sarah Abigail, Francis Marion, Jacob D. and Alice (Alsey) Jolly. She was the oldest of the ten children. She died at the age of 47 on November 1st, 1877 in Lodiburg, Breckenridge Co., Ky.1 General Notes
