Alta Alice was born on September 28th, 1898 in Wallis, Austin Co., Texas.1 Alta Alice's father was John Linder Allen and her mother was Lottie Caroline Bell. Her paternal grandparents were James William Allen and Penelope Johnston. She had a brother and seven sisters, named Michael L., Lottie Uvada, Susan Bell, Audlie A., Betsy, Ruby Rea, Mary Elizabeth and Anna Mae. She was the fifth oldest of the nine children. She died at the age of 84 on November 20th, 1982 in San Antonio, Bexar Co., Texas. She was buried in Glen Rest Cemetery, Kerrville, Kerr Co., Texas.1 1 General Notes
